World Education is growing now popularized another method called the Montessori Method. Basically, the system is almost similar to the regular system, because it still involves the role of pupils and teachers. This method usually applied to the Montessori preschool education to elementary school, but some are using this system in high school.
Montessori method was invented by Dr. Maria Montessori, an educator from Italy. Dr. Maria Montessori developed this method as a result of his research on the development of intellectual who experience mental retardation. The hallmark of this method is the emphasis on self briefing on the activities of the child, and clinical observation of the teacher who serves as a facilitator or escort.
This method emphasizes the importance of the adjustment of children with learning environment the level of its development, and the role of physical activity in absorbing the concept of academic and practical skills. Another characteristic is the use of the equipment auto correction to help children learn, and get it right or wrong of the deed is done, so that children can correct itself. Children are becoming more familiar on error was made, without the need to be told by educators. Schools with these methods also do not know the existence of reward and punishment (rewards and punishments).
In regular schools, all lessons are taught on the basis of the curriculum, so inevitably children "forced" to understand all the things that are taught. However, in the Montessori school, children learn to do your own customs conducted everyday, like tidying up the bed, wash the dishes after a meal, and others, as well as playing various games that educate. However, all of the lessons being taught has a specific meaning and purpose of education and can be selected in accordance with the child's lifetime, so far as in accordance with his age.
The system recognizes five areas of Montessori learning main, exercise everyday life or Exercise of Practical Life, learning through the five senses/multi-sensorial, language/Language/Cultural, world around, and math/Math.
